Playing at Blacksburg High School the Pulaski Co. Cougar baseball team saw the same old problems occur. They committed six errors and their pitchers surrendered 10 walks as they lost 11-1 in a six-inning slaughter rule game.

The six errors lead to six Bruin unearned runs as they scored three runs in the third to go up 4-1. They crossed home plate twice in the fourth and four more in the fifth.

Ben Miller had two RBI, Craig Weaver scored three runs and had two hits. Wes McCoy went six innings on the mound for the win. He walked one, struck out two and gave up four hits.

The Cougars (1-6) got hits from Ethan Gallimore, Punky Foster, Micah Minnick, and Austin Gallimore. Chris Remington took the loss as he walked five, gave up four hits and four runs.

” We made some changes for this game, but we didn’t get the results,” said a very disappointed Cougar head coach Greg Allen. ” We need to mature with our focus and compete much better. It seems if it isn’t one thing it’s another.”

Pulaski Co will hit the road again Thursday as they go to Lord Botetourt. They will return to Cougar Land Friday to take on Cave Spring. Both games are slated for 5;00 pm.
