Pulaski Co. High school head football coach Mark Dixon has stepped down, for now, as head football coach of Pulaski Co. Cougars. Cam Akers has been named interim head coach for mow and will be in charge of all football operations.

Dixon will have a medical issue resolved from his years of playing pro football. He played in the Canadian Football League and for five years in the NFL for the Miami Dolphins. He played from 89-to 93 at UVA under head coach George Welsh. He came to Pulaski Co. from Galax High School, where he won a state title.
