The First Bank of Virginia / Fort Chiswell Christmas tournament got started today (Saturday) with the junior varsity squads playing. In the opening game of the day Johnson Co.(TN) destroyed the Carroll Co jv’s 55-21. Then the Trojans of Alleghany (NC) got by the Floyd young Buffaloes 39-34. The third junior varsity contest saw the Radford Bobcats jump on the Bland Co. Bears early and coasted to a 50- 18 shellacking. The nightcap saw the home standing Fort Chiswell Pioneers beat the Grayson Co. Blue Devils in hotly contest game by the score of 46-38. The junior varsity part of the tourney will start back up Monday morning at 9am with Carroll Co. versus Bland Co. The second game will pit Floyd Co. against Grayson Co. Radford will then take on the Longhorns of Johnson Co. (TN) at 11:30 am and the fourth contest will pit the Fort Chiswell Pioneers go up against Alleghany (NC) at approximately 12:45 . The varsity tournament will then start at 4 as Carroll Co plays Johnson Co.
