Chilhowie… The Fort Chiswell Pioneers got a complete game, two hit shutout from Dallas Beasley as they defeated the Chilhowie Warriors 7-0. Beasley gave up a leadoff single and another single in the fourth as he threw just 88 pitches for the complete game. Fort Chiswell (9-1) got three hits from Jarred Tuck. He also scored one and had two RBI. Tanner Bailey produced three hits and knocked in one. Tanner Cook and Chance Davis both had two hits and a RBI each.

Beasley seemed to get stronger as he went, and he struck out the side in the fifth. He finished with six and walked just one.

Pioneer head coach Derrick Jackson said, ”We got a great performance today from Beasley. We did commit three errors and needs to clean that up. I thought Tuck, Davis and Bailey all had a good game for us. This was a big road win for us.”

Five different Pioneers scored their runs; Lucas Edmonds had two, Davis, Tuck, Cook, Ben Van Dyne and Bryson Booher each scored one.

The Pioneers have another big game on the road Wednesday as they travel to Wytheville to take on their archrivals the Maroons of George Wythe. First pitch is scheduled for 5 pm.
