Big Plays and Speed defeats Fort Chiswell

Playing on a perfect night for football the Graham G-Men once again proved that speed kills. Graham had over 200 yards by their special teams and Taymon Cooke scored three touchdowns leading them to a 49-28 win over Fort Chiswell.

Cooke not only had three touchdowns but he had 180 yards of total offense. Quarterback Ben Meade completed just three passes for 130 yards. Graham lead 21-13 after one quarter and 35-13 at halftime.The G-Men (7-1) main running back Jamorya Cousin had just 11 carries for 87 yards and scored one touchdown.

The Pioneers ( 6-3) got 172 yards of offense from Colby Rider and quarterback Warren ” Pookie” Moore threw for 133 yards as he completed 13 of 22 passes. Rider had 84 yards receiving and 88 more rushing. He also scored one touchdown. Sophomore Tyler Jakubiak scored twice and had 146 yards rushing.

Graham had 219 yards in punt and kick returns, 130 yards passing and 214 yards rushing. Fort Chiswell had 138 passing yards and 264 rushing yards.

Fort Chiswell will be on the road next Friday as they travel to Bland Co. Kick off is slated for 7 pm.
