With Josh Wingate being named the new head football coach at Fort Chiswell, it brings the total to nine, new head football coaches this season for schools in Southwest Virginia. Practice officially starts Thursday, July 26. Most schools will begin their journey for the high school football season.

Fort Chiswell, Carroll Co., Rural Retreat, Abingdon, Eastside, Hurley, Twin Springs, Rye Cove and Twin Valley are the schools with new head coaches. They all we get underway either Thursday, July 26 or Monday, July 30.
