New VHSL boss, former Dublin Dukes and Pulaski Co. Cougar

The Virginia High School League ( VHSL) has a new boss and his name is Billy Haun. He’s a former teacher and coach at Dublin Middle School and an assistant football coach at Pulaski Co. High School under then head coach Joel Hicks. Haun was later recommended by Hicks to then athletic director of George Wythe High School ( Wytheville) Carl Mamms. Mamms was a former head football coach at Big Creek High of War, West Virginia and was replaced there by Joel Hicks.

Haun left George Wythe to be the head man of Richlands (Va.) High for their football team. He left there to become coach of Western Albemarle and then Monticello. He got out of the coaching profession and got into administration as an assistant principal. He was until now the Assistant Secretary of Education for the State of Virginia , located in Richmond. He is replacing the retiring VHSL boss Ken Tilley.
