The Salem came into Blacksburg looking for revenge from a 49-12 loss in the regular season to the Bruins. They got their revenge as they outscored Blacksburg 12-0 in the fourth quarter for a thrilling 33-32 win for the Class 4 Regional Championship.

Salem recovered a Bruins fumble at the 15 yard line on the very first play of the game and three plays later DeAngelo Ramsey scored from five yards out and Nate craft kick put the Spartans up 7-0 with less than two minutes into the game.

The Bruins Cole Beck would run from three yards out but the point after kick was block with Salem still by one 7-6 at the end of the first quarter. Salem Viante Tucker would catch a 51 yard bomb from Jack Gladden to the Spartans up 14-6 but Blacksburg ( 11-2) would answer with a Beck nine yard run up the middle and their two-point conversion pass was no good to cuts Salem lead to 14-12 with just over four minutes before halftime.Salem would get on the board with 1 :02 before intermission as Gladden would hit Avery Close over the middle for a 13 yard touchdown and Craft point after put the Spartans up 21-12 at halftime.

The third quarter saw the Bruins scored three touchdowns oas Beck took hand off and went off guard and changed directions enroute to a 54 yard scamper but Cameron Wise would hit the upright as the score stayed 21-18 salem with 9:30 showing left in the third quarter. Blacksburg would shut the Spartans down as they limited to Spartans to three plays and out. On their next possession the bruins would take the lead onna Beck 11 yard run and Wise pat made it 25-21 . They would get another score on a Grant Johnson to Beck 52 yard strike for six more on the last play of the third quarter and the Bruins went up 32-21 going into the last quarter.

Salem ( 11-2) would then score on a Gladden to Close 42 yard strike but their two-point conversion pass was batted down and the Bruins still leading 32-27. The Spartans would force a Bruin punt and four plays later De’Angelo Ramsey would hurdle the line of scrimmage blocking and raced 39 yards for a touchdown and again their pass for two points was batted down but Salem had taken the lead 33-32 with just over four minutes remaining. Blacksburg was held on three plays and punted and the spartans would get two huge first downs to run the game clock out and win the game 33-32.

Ramsey rushed for 182 yards on 31 carries for the Spartans twi touchdowns. Avery Close caught two touchdown passes for 55 yards. Gladden the quarterback was 7 of 14 for 177 yards passing and threw three touchdowns.

Blacksburg got five touchdowns from Cole Beck as he rushed for 189 yards on 25 carries. Grant Johnson completed 15 of 30 passes for 189 yards and one touchdown pass.

Salem had 428 yards of total yards and the Bruins had 375. Salem will host Sherando next Saturday in the state semifinal.
