Bobcats get payback, beats Martinsville

Playing in their packed gym, the Radford Bobcats beat the Martinsville Bulldogs 52-49 to avenge their only loss on the season. Senior guard Marcus Finley scored 25 points and Blake Burdack tossed in 11 and had seven rebounds for the winning Cats.

Martinsville got 14 points from Radford University bound , 6-7 center Devonnte Holland. Zanthus Hairston chipped in with 12 and Jay Dandridge eight.

Radford was hot from downtown as they stroked 11 three-pointers against the Bulldogs 2-3 zone. Finley hit six of those for the game ,with four coming in the first half. Heth Grant hit a couple long shots and finished with seven points and grabbed six rebounds. The Bobcats (7-1) led from the get go as they were up 12-9 after one quarter and 21-16 at half as they slowed the Bulldogs (5-1) down using their own zone defense. Freshman Quinton Morton-Robertson had five points but had a team high seven assists. Radford had went to Martinsville before Christmas and came back with a 21 point defeat. On this cold night outside, the hot shooting Bobcats got some revenge.
