Fort Chiswell Middle School wins season opener

The Fort Chiswell Pioneer Middle School went on the road and came away with a 14-0 win over the Rural Retreat Indians. Pioneer quarterback Siler Watson completed four of eight passes for 82 yards , two touchdown passes and no interceptions. Reed Dunford and Camden Gravely caught the two touchdowns from Watson.

The Pioneers lost three fumbles but their stout defense would come through for them to pick up the win.Head coach Danny Dunford remarked, ” We overcame three fumbles but our defense save us tonight.” Fort Chiswell first score came on a 4th and 2 from the Rural Retreat 48 yard line in the opening quarter.
