Northside holds on to win benefit game

The Radford Bobcats played a benefit basketball at Radford in the Students vs Cancer game versus Northside. The Vikings came out on top 81-71 as Shey Webb scored 21 points , 6’7″ Julien Wooten had 19 and point guard Nick Price tossed in 15.

Radford had a team and game high 30 points from Quinton Morton-Robertson and Cam Cormany poured in 20. Miles Jones contributed 10 points and had five rebounds. Cormany had four rebounds, two assists. Morton-Richardson had five assists and two rebounds.

Northside started hot as they scored 22 points in the first quarter to lead 22-13 after the opening quarter and never looked back. They were up 40-29 at intermission and 58-47 going into the last quarter.

Radford cut their deficit to five 70-65 with three minutes remaining but couldn’t get any closer. Morton -Robertson hit four -three’s and scored 15 points in the last quarter for the Bobcats. Cormany hit two-three’s also in the quarter. Radford finished with 14 three pointers but came up short on the scoreboard. Radford head coach Rick Cormany said,” Northside is a real good basketball team. They are well coached and got a lot of different players that can hurt you. ” He then added, ” I am disappointed that we got beat off the dribble but we didn’t quit as we cut the deficit to five late in the fourth quarter. ”

Radford will be back in action Saturday morning as they host the Cave Spring Knights at 11:00 am.
