NRV Tigers gets complete game from Stuart

The New River Valley Tigers got a complete game four-hitter pitched by Jacob Stuart enroute to 2-0 victory over Beaver Valley National in their last game of the weekend in Morgantown, WV. Stuart’s pitching let the Tigers finish with a 2-2 record on their journey to WVU. He not only got the complete game but also walked no one and struck out eight. Tiger head coach Todd Davis remarked,” Jacob ( Stuart) pitched a gem for us today. We played well behind him and it felt for more like us today.” The Tigers scored both their runs in the bottom of the fourth as Pulaski Co. Cougar Bailey Ayers knocked in Chris Martin and then Caleb Wetzel would single to score Caleb Franklin. Ayers , Wetzel and Martin all went 1 for 2 at the plate as Caleb Franklin was 1 for 1 with two walks. Trey Hodson went 1 for 3 for them. The Tigers will be off for the next couple weeks. Their next travels will take them to East Tennessee St. University as they will play there July 14-16. They are now 4-4 for the summer.
