Winning streak continues for Pioneers

Max Meadows… The Fort Chiswell Pioneers won their fourth consecutive game as they blasted the Chilhowie Warriors 13-6.

Dallas Beasley went 4.2 innings on the mound to improve to 5-0 as he struck out four. Senior Bryson Booher, who’s signed to play baseball at Concord in West Virginia, had another big game at the plate for the Pioneers. He hit a three-run homer, knocked in five runs and scored twice.

Beasley entered the game on the mound having given up but one earned run on the season. He gave up three earned runs but it wasn’t enough for the Warriors.

Fort Chiswell (14-2) have now clinched the number one seed in Conference 46 play. The playoffs start first of next week.

Pioneer head coach Derrick Jackson remarked, ”Dallas pitched well for us again today and Bryson (Booher) had a big game at the plate.” He then said, ”We still made some errors that I’m not happy about but we won.”

Chance Davis of the Pioneers scored three runs and had three RBI. Jarrod Tuck had three hits and scored twice. Tanner Bailey also had two hits, scored one and knocked in a run.

Chilhowie was led by J. Delp who was three for four. He scored twice and knocked in two.

Fort Chiswell will be home Wednesday and travel to Grayson Co. Thursday. Both games scheduled for 5 pm.
